I'm David. I've been building for the web since 2000.
Founder & CTO of CLOSE, an agency of around 14 people in Granada. Plugin reviewer at WordPress.org, sponsored by Hostinger. And someone who still enjoys writing the code himself.

// bio
What I do today
I lead the technical side of CLOSE: WooCommerce stores, integrations between WordPress and Spanish ERPs and CRMs like Holded, Odoo and Clientify, and custom apps built with Laravel. The agency also runs digital marketing, so most projects end up being the website, the code behind it and the campaigns that bring people in.
Every week I review the plugins submitted to the official WordPress.org directory, as part of the Plugin Review Team, thanks to Hostinger's sponsorship. I also build tools that make reviewing faster.
On the side, I build our own products: ReclamaFacturas, a SaaS to chase unpaid invoices, and CloseHub, the platform CLOSE clients use to follow their projects and reporting. And I speak at WordCamps and community events about plugin development, security and automation.

How I got here
First websites
Personal pages built with FrontPage. That's where it started.
A catalogue synced with the ERP
At Centro Hogar Sánchez I built a product catalogue site that synced with the management software. Integrations, before I knew the word.
The Closemarketing blog
A blog about online marketing, built on WordPress. It later became the company.
Closemarketing becomes an agency
From blog to business. By 2010 every project we did ran on WordPress.
WordCamp Granada
Co-organised WordCamp Granada with a great team of local WordPress professionals.
WordPress.org Plugin Review Team
Joined the team that reviews every plugin submitted to the official directory, sponsored by Hostinger.
CLOSE, ~14 people
Founder & CTO. WordPress, integrations, Laravel apps and marketing, plus our own products: ReclamaFacturas and CloseHub.
